The BSc degree in Airline Transport

The BSc degree in Airline Transport Operations is an innovative new three year full time third level programme which combines an Airline Transport Pilots Licence from The Pilot Training College with a business degree from leading third level college, The Waterford Institute of Technology.

Aviation is a global business that includes the operation of airlines and airports but also the downstream industries like tourism, supply chain management, logistics and international trade.

This course offers a unique opportunity to earn a full JAA Airline Transport Licence and a BSc. honours degree in business.  Unlike other aviation degree courses with pilot studies modules, The Pilot Training College graduates will be qualified to apply for first officer positions with major airlines immediately upon graduation and without the necessity of further pilot training.  PTC degree graduates have the long term career advantage of possessing a business degree which many airlines consider important for the long term career potential of new employees.
