Converting Your Pilot Licence to JAA
The ICAO to JAA Conversion Programme is designed specifically for professional ICAO pilots who hold an ICAO CPL, ME/IR, and who are interested in completing JAA training in order to qualify to work in Europe. This course is regulated by the Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) and the pilot will receive a licence under the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) on completion of the course.
Converting your ICAO or FAA pilot licence involves taking the JAA ATPL theoretical knowledge exams; performing an abridged commercial pilot licence (JAA CPL) and multi-engine piston (MEP) training with flight tests; and concluding with multi-engine instrument rating (MEIR) training and tests.
JAA ATPL theoretical knowledge can be studied by distance learning or in the classroom at both our Irish or US training centres. JAA CPL and MEP training are offered in both the USA and Ireland. JAA MEIR training is only offered in Ireland for regulatory reasons.
