Becoming A Pilot

Current Student Pilots enrolled in Pilot Training College

Take the Pilot Skills and Aptitude Assessment

Pilot Training College requires that all candidates who do not have a current Private Pilot’s License (PPL) must take part in a one day skills and assessment course.

This course will allow you to discover if you have the necessary aptitude and skills to complete the training programme successfully and will provide you with objective information about your flight training options.

What does the Assessment involve?

The Pilot Skills and Aptitude Assessment includes the following itinerary:

  • Introduction to Pilot Training College and student video
  • Briefing by a PTC Ground Instructor
  • A Computer Based Skills Test
  • Interview with a Senior Instructor
  • Training needs analysis and plan

Preparation for Assessment

In order to help you to prepare for the pilot skills assessment, our trained advisors will provide a full preparation pack including sample questions and a detailed description of your assessment day.

Training Plan

Once your Pilot Skills Assessment is finished we will review your results from your computer based skills test and interview to prepare your individual training plan to suit your skills and capabilities.
